Description
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), supplied as a pH-buffered, freeze-dried preparation. As the main redox coenzyme of cell metabolism, it is a key subject of aging and mitochondrial research, which repeatedly finds that NAD+ levels in tissue fall over time.
Supplied by LiliPeptide in boxes of 10 vials, priced per box. The strength shown is the amount in each vial.
Research notes
NAD+ levels and aging
Studies across many tissues and species report that NAD+ falls with age, affecting sirtuin activity, PARP-dependent DNA repair and mitochondrial function. Raising NAD+, through precursors or the molecule itself, is an active area of research.
Why the preparation is buffered
Dissolved NAD+ is sensitive to pH and heat, and breaks down into nicotinamide and ADP-ribose in acidic or warm conditions. A buffered freeze-dried preparation keeps the dinucleotide intact until it is reconstituted.
