Description
Delta sleep-inducing peptide is a nine-residue peptide first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during induced sleep. Neurophysiology research studies it for sleep architecture, stress responses and circadian regulation.
Supplied by LiliPeptide in boxes of 10 vials, priced per box. The strength shown is the amount in each vial.
Research notes
Slow-wave sleep findings
Early electrophysiology studies found that DSIP infusion increased delta-wave (slow-wave) sleep activity in animals, which is how the peptide got its name. Later work extended its profile to stress protection and circadian effects, but results have not replicated consistently across laboratories.
Stress responses in rodent studies
In rodents, DSIP has been linked to smaller stress-induced metabolic and behavioral disturbances, possibly through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and endogenous opioid systems. Its receptor has never been conclusively identified.
